Well, studies have shown that women who ate more carbohydrates, especially starches, were more likely to have repeated cancer. A new research found that an increased consumption of starches may boost the risk of breast cancer recurrence.
The link between starch and breast cancer recurrence could not be well explained. However, starchy foods boost insulin levels, and elevated insulin levels have been linked with higher breast cancer risk, she said. The insulin may stimulate the growth of tumor cells. It's too soon to make new diet recommendations for breast cancer patients.
