Forget about dieting and losing weight. What's important is that you stay in good shape. Follow these healthy habits to boost your metabolism!

1- Drink a glass of cold water when you wake up.
Your body will burn a few calories while heating up the cold water to your body temperature. It will wake your whole metabolism up.

2- Eat a healthy breakfast shortly after you wake up.
Don’t wait for more than an hour and a half after waking up to eat a healthy breakfast. Foods like oatmeal, almonds, berries and anything rich in Vitamin C will shake your metabolism up. Make sure your breakfast is rich: it should be 22% to 55% of your daily calorie intake.

3-Build muscles.
Muscles use more energy than fat does, and constantly burn calories. The more muscles you build, the higher your metabolism will be.

4- Increase the intensity of your activity.
While working out (whether it’s walking, jogging, swimming or something else), increase the intensity of your exercise by 30% during 30 to 60 seconds. It will trick your body into consuming more oxygen, so you’ll exercise for less time and get great result. Do this in sequences of 5 repetitions.

5- Eat Omega-3 filled food.
The fatty acids contained in Omega-3 help regulating your metabolism, so make sure you eat plenty of salmon, tuna, sardines and walnuts.

6- Eat proteins
.
Proteins take more time to be digested than fat or carbs, so you’ll feel full for a longer period of time and your body will burn more calories while doing so.

7- Eat 4 to 6 meals a day.
Fasting and extending the time between meals makes your body go into “starvation mode”, which will make it conserve energy to prevent you from dying of hunger. And if you frequently eat many small meals, you’ll eat less.

8- Sleep early.
Try to sleep 7 to 8 hours per night. Healthy sleep regulates your energy use and appetite hormones.
